HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Pay tribute to someone special or celebrate a significant life event and keep 新利18手机版 green! Contribute to the Commemorative Tree Fund to support the planting of trees on public property. Your tax-deductible gift ensures that future generations will enjoy the tree canopy of our seaside community! The Commemorative Tree Fund is a partnership between the City of 新利18手机版 and the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Trees (MACT). MACT's mission is to preserve and grow the tree canopy of 新利18手机版.

Trees are one of the most enduring symbols of beauty and life. This unique program encourages you to donate to a tree-planting fund to commemorate a special event or to honor a family member, friend or pet. It's a memorable gift that keeps on giving - year after year.

To recognize your generous gift, local artist Bill Wolff was commissioned to create a tree sculpture permanently installed in the City Hall atrium. Each donor to the tree planting fund will have a custom engraved leaf attached to the tree sculpture. There are three sponsorship levels available and each one will be acknowledged with a different color leaf. In addition, donors will receive a recognition letter from the City.

A GIFT TO THE FUND CAN BE USED TO HONOR MANY EVENTS INCLUDING:

–    the birth of a child or grandchild
–    weddings
–    anniversaries
–    graduations
–    a new pet
–    the memory of a loved one
–    a retirement celebration
Community associations, churches, and businesses can also use the program to honor individuals or groups for special achievements or leadership recognitions.
Please note that the trees funded through this program will be planted on City property and will not have individual commemorative markers at the planting site.

FEBRUARY 2020 COMMEMORATIVE TREE UPDATE:

From the City of 新利18手机版 and MACT, thank you to all our donors in our first year of this special program. We collected $21,450 and were able to install 38 leaves on the tree sculpture in City Hall. As part of the contributions, we were able to help fund the planting of approximately 50 street trees including many on Rehoboth Avenue. Some of the species planted include oak, redbud, and serviceberry.

Once again, thank you for your donations and please spread the word to your friends and family. The City is working hard to determine this year's species and locations, so please stay tuned for this upcoming information.
